BUSD > Berkeley High School Community Theater Classroom Renovation

This project consists of the renovation of the classroom wing adjacent to the historic Berkeley Community Theater on the campus of Berkeley High School. Over the years, this iconic theater has welcomed such notables as Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, The Grateful Dead, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Tower of Power, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Santana, Metallica, Foo Fighters, and more. The renovation encompasses seismic upgrades, the demolition and rebuilding of floor levels, renovation of the stage box, a new classroom hallway and replacement of the theater’s rigging system. It also includes a student lobby addition on the main level and an addition for a building elevator on the upper level, along with minor associated site work.
